Call for Volunteers

Frost Mountain Nordic is a volunteer-run club and we expect all members to volunteer during the season at events and regular practices. Volunteers are vital to FMN!

FROST MOUNTAIN EASTERN CUP AND MIDDLEBURY CARNIVAL

February 14th through 16th, FMN, together with Rikert and the Middlebury College Nordic Ski Team, will be hosting an Eastern Cup/ Carnival race weekend. We will need many volunteers to pull off a successful event.

What? NENSA Eastern Cup Races feature the fastest racing in New England for ages 14 and up! Many of our club athletes will be racing, as well as athletes from Middlebury College so it is a good chance to cheer on the locals. The event will welcome top club, collegiate, and pro skiers from throughout the northeast with typically 400+ racers.

Why? Hosting races inspires our own young club skiers and provides needed revenue for our club. And, it is fun!

How to help? Click here to volunteer; no ski racing experience necessary.

SATURDAY SNACK IN THE BARN

After each Saturday practice, FMN gather in the Rikert Barn for hot cocoa and snacks to warm up and refuel. We count on family and friends of our BKL skiers to help pull this off. FMN supplies cocoa and families supply the snacks. Click through to the 2025 snack helpers sign-up sheet. This is a great opportunities for caregivers who are not skiing to help out.

GROUP LEADERS FOR FROST CATS AND BOBCATS

We are looking for parents to lead groups in both our Frost Cat and Bobcat programs. For Frost Cat leaders, knowledge of ski technique is not necessary – just a willingness to have fun and play games with kids on skis. Bobcat leaders need both knowledge and ability in skate and classic skiing. Weekly plans for skiing and games will be provided. Parents who commit to being group leaders can have one child participate in Frost Cats or Bobcats at no charge. Before registering, please email Britta (britta@frostmountainnordic.org) for more details and directions.

PARENT HELPERS FOR FROST CATS

Besides the designated Group Leaders, we will need additional adults to ski with the Frost Cats. Sign-up at registration.

WAX HELPERS FOR BOBCATS AND WILDCATS

Especially for classic days, we’ll need some extra hands on deck for wax support. Indicate your interest when registering your skier.
